On behalf of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, we wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to the Parents, families and friends of those wonderful young Irish people who died so tragically in San Francisco, this week. We are saddened that their young lives were cut short so suddenly and so prematurely but we are heartened by all that they achieved. These young people represent what is best in our students and we are proud of them.
We are also thinking of the injured and hope that they will improve and return to health. We thank the doctors and medical teams for their professional care and for the support provided to the traumatised friends. We are touched by the support of the USA and Irish communities at this sad time for our country as we mourn the untimely loss of such truly remarkable ambassadors.
Our members, working as Guidance Counsellors in the schools effected by the tragedy, are supporting students as they deal with this sudden and devastating loss.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this dark and painful time.
